Halloween Ornaments Made From Vintage Post Card Images

Hello,

I would like to share with  you these cute ornaments

I made from vintage Halloween post card images.

These are so easy to make and you can follow

my tutorial for my vintage post card image magnets to make these.

The only difference is I added some black lace and a black satin hanger

that I hot glued onto the back of the cards.

The lace that I used was actually white lace that I "dyed"

using black paint diluted with water. 

I just dipped the lace into the paint mixture and then hung up to dry.

These are an adorable and inexpensive way to decorate for Halloween.

Easy Black Halloween Wreath And Black Roses ~ Dollar Store Craft

Hello,

Normally when I do fall decorating I don't do the spooky Halloween themes.

I have always stuck with the pretty fall themes or the cute corn, pumpkin and scarecrows.

I always decorated so that it would carry me through until Thanksgiving.

But this year my son Derrick who just turned 11 wants to have a Halloween party with all the spooky stuff!

I didn't want to invest a lot of money in decorations so I went to the local Dollar Tree...

which I really should have stock in because I love any dollar store!

I found these great 18" evergreen wreaths!

I spray painted the wreath with flat black paint (also $1.00)

From a distance they almost look like a feather wreath!

Personally I think it looks great "as is"... but you could also add a bow or some decorations.

I loved the look of them so much that I also decorated a few for a local craft show.

I added a sign, bow and some creepy critters and stretched some

spider webbing across the wreath. 

Personally I'm not too crazy about these... but they are spooky!

I also used some cheap $1.00 white rose bushes and spray painted them black

and and then painted the tips of each rose.

I did a few in purple and a few in orange.

Here is an upclose pic of the purple ones.

 They had black roses with glitter tips for a dollar each...

but this way you can have a dozen for a $1 by using a bit of left over paint

and you could also add some glitter too if you prefer.

I hope you enjoyed this easy and inexpensive way to decorate for Halloween.

Tutorial ~ Halloween Magnets From Vintage Post Card Images

Hello,

I would like to share with you how to make these cute little magnets

from free post card images on the web.

Materials Needed:

Cardboard (I used a pop tart box)

Vintage Post Card Images printed on plain white copy paper

Mod Podge or all purpose white glue

Spray Paint

Magnets

First spray paint the front and back of the cardboard

and let dry.  I used flat black but you could use whatever color you like.

Then you would cut out your post card images and decoupage them onto

the cardboard using mod podge or glue.

Once dry you would cut out around the image and glue a magnet on the back.

It's that easy!

Tutorial ~ Decoupaged Halloween Tree Using Vintage Post Cards

Hello,

I would like to share with you this easy Halloween tree that I made.

It's not really much of a tutorial since it is so simple to make.

.

This started out as an Easter Tree that I had purchased in the Spring at the Dollar Store.

I spray painted it with flat black paint.

Then I found a Vintage Post Card Image on the web 

resized it and printed it out on plain copy paper.

Then I decoupaged it on the front of the pot.

And that is all there is to it. 

A cute little Halloween tree for $1.00!

If you do not have an Easter tree you could also make

one of these very easily by using a flower pot, spray expandable foam and real tree branches.

You would simply fill the pot with expandable foam and insert the branches and let the foam dry for 24 hours.

Then paint it and decoupage and your done!

Plus you would have your choice of what size tree you wanted.

Tutorial ~ Decoupaged Halloween Candle Jar Using Dyed Coffee Filters

Hello,

It has been awhile since my last post but I have been very busy

getting ready for an upcoming craft show.

Today I am going to share with you how to make these easy 

and cost next to nothing jar candle using dyed coffee filters.

Materials Needed:

1 Glass Jar

4-6 Coffee Filters

1 Votive Cup (one that fits in the top of the jar)

1 Candle

1 Piece of Ribbon

Mod Podge or All Purpose Glue

Black and Orange Acrylic Paint

The first step is to "dye" your coffee filters in tea or I used coffee.

To dye them you simply soak them for a few minutes.

Then lay them out on a sheet of newspaper or cardboard.

Then splatter them with black and orange paint.

Let them dry completely.

Next you will tear the coffee filters in workable size pieces

and start by decoupaging the bottom of the jar first.

Then work your way down the sides.  

Then you will need to let this dry... I left mine dry overnight.

Then in the morning I flipped the jars over and did the top of the jars around the rims.

Then again let dry.

Then tie the piece of ribbon around,

add the votive cup and candle... and you are done!

Most of the materials for this project I already had 

except for the candles so it cost next to nothing to make these.

You could also change the colors to fit any theme... 

I am already planning on some for Christmas!

Sweet Shabby White Cottage Pumpkins With Pearls and Lace

Hello,

I was so inspired by the sweater pumpkins in my previous post

that I decided to try my hand at them.

I made mine from the arm of  a white sweater and added pearls and lace to it.

Here is another one I made only I added some pink rosebuds to this one.

Cottage Decorating For Fall In Muted White Colors

Hello,

If the tradition fall color's do not fit into color scheme
for decorating here are some great ideas for cottage decorating in muted colors.

These are actually for Thanksgiving but would be great with pumpkin or two added for fall.

some really great ideas and free printables that I would like to share.
