Quick and Easy St. Patrick's Day Banner ~ Made from Paper Clips and Free Printables

Hello,

Here is a quick and easy last minute decoration

you can make for St. Patrick's Day!

I made this by using plastic coated colored paper clips

that I purchased at the dollar store.

These come in assorted colors and I sorted them

and attached them alternating white and green.

Then I printed out some free vintage images

from these lovely sites...

Vintage Holiday Crafts

Then I attached them to the paper clip banner!

So easy and inexpensive.

Free Fall Printables and CraftTemplates ~ Acorns, Leaves and Pumpkins

I was searching for a sewing template when I came across

some really great ideas and free printables that I would like to share.

First are these really cute free pdf cupcake collars.

They are simply made from paper, glue and glitter.

Road Trip ~ Free Printable Car Games For Kids

Hello,

Today my Dad took my 10 year old son Derrick on vacation

to where his parents were born and raised near Lewisburg, West Virginia.

I wished I would have thought to look for these car games sooner...

and I would have printed them out for him so he would have something to do

on the 6 1/2 hour trip... besides being bored! lol

But I did find some really great sites with

free printable car games that I would like to share.

Today's Parent has a Road Trip Activity Guide

with printable games, musical games,

word number and object games and get creative for kids.

Mom's Minivan has

101 Car Travel Games & Ideas for Kids

Family Fun Go has a good selection of on the road games.

24/7 Moms has a lot of great ideas and links

to keep the kids busy while traveling.

There are a lot more sites out there and if you have an idea

A 60 acre Botanical Garden with over 10,000 different plants.

(I would definitely have to take some of these games along here for my son to play to!)

Easy Valentine's Day House ~ Sweet Pink Confection!

Well since we were snowed in for 3 days me and my son Derrick

decided to make a Valentine house.

This was so easy and all you need are

pink strawberry wafer cookies, canned icing and assorted candies.

Here are the directions:

Start by assembling 4 walls using icing as the morter.

Then stand each wall up and icing the 4 corners.

Let dry for approx. 2 hrs. for icing to set.

Assemble 2 sections for the roof and join them with icing.

Icing the top section of the house where the roof will set and then set the roof on top.

I used toothpicks to hold the roof in place until it set.

Cut corners off of some of the cookies and fill in under the roof with icing.

I found the easiest way to do this is using a toothpick to hold them.

Again let dry for approx. 2 hours for the icing to set.

Once dry icing the roof and apply candy decorations.

Let dry overnight and then remove the toothpicks.

Hint: To speed up drying time you can preheat your oven and then turn it off

and place the house on a cookie sheet and put in oven while warm.

*** Do not leave oven on or it will burn***

Pink and white conversation heart candies decorate the roof.

We used a red Hershey's Kiss for the chimney!

A pink starburst and some red skittles for the windows.

Red Licorice for the door and sides.

This was so much fun I was ready to do a whole village...

but Derrick was bored after this one and was ready to go play in the snow.

But I am still thinking of little ice cream cone trees and a red hot's sidewalk!
