The Original Tutorial Of Embroidery Floss Easter Eggs

Hello everyone,
Sorry, It has been a very long time since I have done a blog post!

I have been seeing tutorials all over Pinterest for embroidery floss Easter eggs.  It's nice when people use your tutorial but not so nice when they don't give you credit or act like it is their own idea!
I originally posted this on February 19, 2010,

But today I am going to re-share the original post with all of you.
I know Easter is almost here but you would still have time
to make a few since they only need to dry overnight.

These are so easy to make and they turn out so pretty and dainty looking.

Supplies Needed:
  • Round balloons
  • Assorted Colors of Embroidery Floss
  • Glue or Mod Podge
  • Bowl or Container
I used all purpose white glue on these that I bought at the dollar store and diluted it with a little water.
Instructions:
  • Blow your balloon up to about 1 1/2" or 2" and tie the end.
  • Dip your embroidery floss into the glue or modge podge and wrap around the balloon until you get the desired look you want.  (I like mine not too close so they have a lacy look)
  • Once covered hang up to dry (use a christmas ball hook or unfold a paper clip for a hanger)  or set them in an empty styrofoam egg carton.
  • Let dry overnight.  I ruined a few by not being patient and letting them dry completely!
  • Once completely dry  pop the balloon and remove.

These look so pretty displayed in a basket or in a dish.
I will probably take a few and add some glitter and a ribbon and a few small silk flowers to hang them on an Easter tree.
Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoyed these.

Wishing everyone a very happy and blessed Easter,
Beverly

Faux Easter Egg Cookie Wall Baskets Newly Listed on Etsy

Hello everyone,
Happy Springtime to all!
I have been very busy since my last post...
A very good friend has offered to let me use her basement to set up my shop in.
So now I will have working reliable internet and a large space to work
on making crafts and selling my items on the internet!
Thank God for good friends!

I have listed some new Spring and Easter items my Etsy.
I made some wall baskets with faux Easter egg cookie's
and decorated them with lace, Easter grass, mini glitter eggs
and lilac blooms and a shimmery bow.

These can be purchased on my Etsy
or if you live locally I can arrange for pick up.

As I get more listed I will be posting them.

I will also be doing a tutorial on this Easter wreath made with
handmade felt flowers very soon...

Thank you for looking and have a great day!

Easy No Sew Felt Egg Ornament Tutorial

Hello,
I know I am late with this post since Easter is past but I still wanted to share these easy ornaments with you.
Materials Needed:
Felt
10" Piece of Ribbon
Glue Gun
Lace
Pearls
Batting
Egg Shape Template (I used a cookie cutter)

To begin you would trace and cut out two pieces of felt in an egg shape. Then you would glue the piece of ribbon to the top inside of one of the pieces of felt.

Next glue the lace around the edge of the felt.

Then you glue both pieces of felt together leaving a small opening to insert the batting.

I  added some pearls to the front in the shape of a cross but you could also use buttons or embroider something on these.

These would make lovely gifts for the ladies at church, for someone in a nursing home or to decorate for a church banquet.  They would also be perfect for a teen Sunday School craft for Easter.

Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoyed these.
Have a great day!
Love,
Beverly
