Happy Memorial Day ~ God Bless Our Soldiers And Their Families

Hello,
Tomorrow is Memorial Day a day that is set aside to honor our brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom in the United States Of America.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13
Dear Heavenly Father,
As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our service men and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and presence as they stand in the gap for our protection.
We also remember the families of our troops, and ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes and your peace, provision and strength to fill their lives.
May the members of our armed forces be filled with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support.
In the name of Jesus. Amen.
My thoughts and prayers are with each family
and our soldiers who are still out there fighting for our freedom.
Thank you!
Love,
Beverly

First Roses Blooming In My Garden

Hello,
I hope you are having a beautiful day.
It is a cooler mostly cloudy day here
but it was nice for getting the grass mowed this morning.

I wanted to share some photos of the first roses blooming
in my garden.
I just transplanted these a couple of weeks ago
and I was pleasantly surprised to see them bloom so fast!
Here are also some photos of my peonies blooming.

This bush is just getting ready... look at all the blooms!
Have a wonderful day!

Twig Heart With Pink Roses

Hello,
They are calling for bad storms in our area today
so I wanted to share this twig heart wreath I just made
with you while I am able to get online.
I painted the twig heart shape white
and added silk roses, babies breath,
pearls, feathers and a wired pink organza bow.
I also added a pink mushroom bird
in a nest made of pearls!
If I was a bird I would love this nest!
Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Faux Beadboard and Tin Ceiling Wallpaper

Hello,
I have been wanting to do my bathroom in beadboad
for so long now... but I am not much of a carpenter.
But I just found this beautiful faux
Beadboard and Tin Ceiling Wallpaper
from Grandin Road and wanted to share it.

And I have been wanting to do my kitchen
and dining room with tin ceilings but they are so expensive...
But this I can do!
The only downside is this wallpaper is not pre-pasted
but it would be worth the extra work.
I am also going to check locally at Home Depot, Lowes
or York Wallcovering's.
When I get this done... which may be awhile I will definitely post some pics.
Have a great day!

Easy Romantic Pearl Covered Votive Holder

Hello,
This is an easy votive candle holder made by wrapping a glass votive cup with a strand of craft pearls.

Materials Needed:
Glass Votive Cup
Approx. 3 yards of Pearls
(depending on what size pearls used,,, for this project I used 3m - the tiny ones)

To begin remove any stickers from the votive and make sure it is clean and dry.

Starting at the center bottom of the votive cup apply a dot of low melt glue and make a tight circle with the strand of pearls.

Continue glueing and wrapping the pearls until the bottom of the votive cup is covered.

Turn the votive up and continue glueing and wrapping until you have the entire cup covered.

Add a candle or battery operated tealight candle and you have a beautiful romantic votive holder.

These would be beautiful for a wedding table centerpiece and would also make a great gift item.

These look so pretty when they are lit with the light shining through.

I hope you enjoyed this craft and thank you for stopping by.

Another Mother's Day Gift Idea... Decorated Candle

Hello,
This is another easy gift idea for Mother's Day.  I purchased a pre- poured candle from the dollar tree and decorated it with lace, pearls, ribbon and tiny silk flowers.

This takes about 10-15 minutes to complete.

Materials Needed:
Purchased Pre-poured Candle
Lace
Ribbon
Strand of Craft Pearls
Small Silk Flowers
Glue Gun/ Glue

You will start by gluing a piece of lace around the rim of the glass candle holder.

Then you will add a piece of ribbon and glue together on the ends.
Then you will add a string of pearls and glue together on the ends.
Make a small bow and glue this in the center of where the ribbons meet to hide the glue.
Add a few small silk flowers to the center of the bow.
You can also add a little lace "skirt" around the bottom of the candle holder also by wrapping the lace around and glueing together at the ends.
Then wrap a strand of pearls around on top of the lace.

*** Please be sure that none of the flowers, lace or ribbon are above the top of the candle so that they do not catch fire if the candle is lit! ***

These would make a pretty Mother's Day Gift, Birthday Gift or would be beautiful for Wedding Favors or Centerpiece's on the banquet table.

I hope you enjoyed this craft and thank you for stopping by.

Mother's Day Gift Idea...Romantic Ivy Bowl Candle Holder

Hello,
Today I want to share with you how to make a beautiful candle holder from a glass ivy bowl and a glass votive candle holder.  These are so easy and only take about 15 minutes to complete.

I purchased the ivy bowl and candle holder at The Dollar Tree.  Hint: While you are in the store make sure that the candle holder will fit inside of the ivy bowl.

Materials Needed:
Glass Ivy Bowl
Glass Votive Candle Holder
Piece of Lace
Piece of Ribbon
String of Craft Pearls
Feathers
Small Silk Roses
Candle or Battery Operated Tea Light Candle
Glue Gun/ Glue

First make sure that your ivy bowl and candle holder are clean and all stickers are removed.

Fill the ivy bowl with your choice of feathers.

Using your hot glue gun apply 4 dots of glue around the top of the ivy bowl and insert the candle holder quickly before the glue dries.

Take a piece of lace and wrap around the ivy bowl and glue the ends together.

Then wrap a piece of ribbon around the lace and glue the ends.

And then you would also take a strand of pearls and wrap around on top of the ribbon and glue the ends.

Then make a little bow out of the ribbon and glue this in the center where the lace, ribbon and pearls meet. (to hide where you glued)

Then add a string of pearls to the center of the bow to dangle down.

And then glue your two rosebuds in the center of the bow.

Add a battery operated tea light or a votive candle and you are done!

These are so versatile!  Instead of feathers you could add buttons and little spools of thread tied off with a measuring tape, potpourri, mini kitchen items, old jewelry... the possibilities are endless!!!
This makes a beautiful and inexpensive gift esp. for Mom for Mother's Day and would also be a beautiful table centerpiece for a wedding.

I hope you enjoyed this craft and thank you for stopping by my blog.

Beverly
